JO Xund and Fit summer activity programme

for free for our guests

The guest program "JO Xund und Fit" is available to all St. Johann guests. There is one program point per day from Sunday to Friday. The weekly program starts on May 18, 2023 and will run until October 26, 2023. Our guests take part in the program free of charge.

Registrations are required by 6:00 p.m. the day before at the reception desk or at www.JOsalzburg.com

Sunday: E-bike tour to start with to the "Böndlsee" lake

The idyllic Böndlsee, to which this tour takes you, is embedded in the surrounding mountains and surrounded by flower meadows. Together with your guide Manfred you cycle along the Tauernradweg to Grafenhofdorf. Not too steep off the main road, past beautiful farms, colorful meadows and fields to St. Veit. A road that is not too busy leads to Goldegg am See. There you can visit Goldegg Castle and an old forge from the 14th century. It is then only about 4 kilometers to the Böndlsee. A proper refreshment for the return trip is available at the Hotel Seeblick. Then it's completely relaxed back to St. Johann and Alpendorf.

Monday: Golf trial lesson

The golf club Open Golf St. Johann stands for "golfing pleasure for every guest". Play and relaxation or getting to know a new sport is in the foreground. With the 90-minute introductory courses from OPEN Golf Sankt Johann-Alpendorf you have the opportunity to get to know golf. Golf instructor Rodney Richards introduces you to the sport of golf, you hit your first golf balls. You will be provided with equipment and exercise balls, and you will wear casual clothing and sports shoes. And don't worry - the focus is on having fun!

Monday: Hiking experience with nature workshop

You hike together with mountain hiking guide and herbal medicine practitioner Theresa Sommerbichler to the summit of the Hochglocker. You not only enjoy the surrounding panorama, but also learn interesting facts about the local herbs and trees. Once at the top, make a product for your own natural pharmacy and prepare a herbal snack. descent as ascent. If you wish, you can stop off at the Rettenebenalm on the descent. The hike only takes place in good weather.

Tuesday: Climbing

The meeting point on this day is at 9 a.m. at the parking lot of the Alpendorf gondola lift. After picking up the equipment (SnoWorld), we take the gondola lift to the Geisterberg together with the mountain guide Sepp Schiefer. Once there, Sepp Schiefer introduces the participants to the handling of a via ferrata set and how to behave on a via ferrata and walks the Drachis via ferrata together with the participants. At around 2:00 p.m. you will take the gondola back to Alpendorf together.

Wednesday: Herbal walk

Experience nature - herbal walk with Viktoria Obinger, certified TEH practitioner, TEM nature educator and herbal specialist. You hike through a precious piece of home, learn interesting facts about the edible and healing properties of the local flora and get to know the variety of local herbs. The events take place in all weather conditions. The walk begins at the Zederberghof and leads across the surrounding meadows and woods. The tour ends back at the starting point.

Wednesday: E-bike tour for the benefit of charitable organizations "Wetterkreuz"

Deer park, waterfall, weather cross, visit to the Bischofshofen ski jump, drive through the shady forest, fantastic views of Werfen Castle, the Hochkönig, the Tennengebirge, etc., everything is there. The voluntary donations are donated to the Red Cross St. Johann and Doctors Without Borders. Refreshment and refreshments at the Bistro Open Golf St. Johann.

Thursday: Sunrise "JO"ga – Strength and relaxation through yoga

Start the day powerfully and relaxed with Sunrise Yoga. Whether beginner or advanced, "JO"ga is suitable for all people who would like to get to know yoga or have already integrated it into their everyday life. No previous knowledge necessary. The yoga classes are based on hatha yoga, asanas (physical exercises) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) are taught and guided through simple meditations.

Friday: E-bike tour "Pronebenalm"

There are several routes on the Hochglocker and the Pronebenalm: longer or shorter routes, beautiful goods/forest roads, single trails through the forest area. Before the tour, your guide Manfred will explain to you the options available for ascent and descent. Your commitment when cycling up will be rewarded with the summit victory on the Hochglocker with an almost endless panorama of the peaks of the Hohe Tauern, Tennengebirge, Hochkönig massif, Dachstein, Kitzbühel Alps, Dientner Schieferberge... A proper refreshment for the return trip is then available at the Pronebenalm.

On selected dates: farm workshop

At the GreenCare company Reiterhof in Maschl, you and Conny will process seasonal and regional foods into delicacies that you will taste together (e.g. baking bread, making jam/chutneys). Conny is a trained specialist in animal-assisted intervention and a passionate organic farmer. You get an insight into farm life and species-appropriate animal husbandry.

Xund & Fit Winter activity programme

Monday: Winter Walking

This winter hike starts at the valley station of the Alpendorf mountain railways. From there, walk a bit along the road until you turn onto a wide winter hiking trail away from the hustle and bustle. Enjoy the view over the town of St. Johann with a fine cup of spruce needle tea. After about 30 minutes you will reach the Gutberg Naturhotel and turn onto the tree nature trail. There you will get to know the local tree species in an exciting way. Return the same way back to the starting point.

Tuesday: Natural cosmetics

Experience nature with Viktoria Obinger, certified TEH practitioner, TEM nature educator and herbal specialist. This workshop is the ideal introduction to the production of consciously selected natural cosmetics. Natural skin care as well as healing and wound ointments will be prepared, traditional "Pech" spruce resin ointment will be made together as well as a "breath well" cold chest balm made from mountain pine & stone pine needles, the participants may take a small sample with them.

Tuesday: Snowshoe walking

Discover the magical winter landscape with your snowshoe guide. Experience the decelerating winter sport, which takes you through snow-covered forests past breathtaking views into the Salzburg Alps. The fresh mountain air not only revitalizes your health, but also provides one or the other dreamlike moment.

Pre-condition: Valid ski pass for the ascent and descent to the Alpendorf gondola lift, warm winter clothing and good shoes, snowshoes and ski poles, a change of clothing if necessary, sufficient liquid (water, tea ), minimum age 12 years

Wednesday: Classic cross-country training

During a training session, a cross-country skiing coach briefly explains exercises for the classic technique. Easy to remember, easy to imitate, they are exactly what helps beginners and advanced users to get on in the ruts faster. Although the right cross-country skiing technique seems easy to imitate from the outside, systematic cross-country skiing training, even with the classic style, leads to more fun in the snow. Lessons take place on the various trails depending on the snow conditions.

Thursday: Skiing from A-Z

Over 12 peaks and 5 valleys in the heart of Ski amadé - the 12 Peaks Trophy is the best expression of the extraordinary skiing experience that has arisen in the Heart of Ski amadé. The new ski circuit in Salzburger Land is the result of the new ski connection from Snow Space Salzburg with the Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl shuttle mountain and the Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski paradise. The ski tour takes you from A for Alpendorf to Z for Zauchensee and back over the 12 most beautiful peaks in the ski region and is a sporty and enjoyable experience for all skiers. Hunger and thirst are satisfied in one of the numerous ski huts.
